I worked with Changing Faces to develop a short film for the I Am Not Your Villain campaign which calls on the film industry to stop using scars, burns, marks and other visible differences as a shorthand for villainy.
The film was released to coincide with the new Bond movie, which has three villains with visible differences. The film was shown across BBC, ITV and Sky news, as well as shared organically on social media to over 1.6million people. It was also highlighted and celebrated by Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo on the 5 Live Film review.
As a result of this campaign, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson of the James Bond franchise have agreed to speak with Changing Faces to discuss the future of Bond’s representations of villains with visible differences.
